Happy New Year!
So here we are at the start of another year and the usual round of resolutions....I'm no fan of them as I have never been very good at keeping them. What I am more a fan of is coming up what I want to get out of the year ahead.
So less fizz and more planned actions! This year I've been planning for the creative side of things as it's all too easy to get bogged down in the day to day stuff and go for some time without picking up the camera!
I know, from talking to some of my students, that this is a factor of our increasing pace of life and that sometimes what was learnt on a workshop doesn't get practised soon enough and then it sort of gets lost. And the only way to get better is to do.
And the only way to make sure you do is to plan for it; whether you set yourself a challenge or project, book a holiday or just decide to spend a specific time each week trying things out!
And don't forget to tell someone about it....a member of your family or a friend... who can chase you up or take interest in what you want to do. It's surprising how motivating that can be if someone is expecting to see some results! And it doesn't have to be big - small challenges or projects can lead onto or evolve into larger ones!
My creative goals for 2015 include continuing my 365 challenge, going on workshops and playing with the creative ideas in my head on a regular basis (by planning to do it!).
What will yours be?
(And a new notebook always helps!!)
